Your Intelligent Drinking Water Solution!
Powerful Big Block™ Carbon Filtration - 1,000 GALLON Capacity!
Combining the power of solid carbon block filtration with a unique, proprietary blend of additional filter medias, WaterChef’s innovative Big Block™ Filtration technology maximizes contaminant reduction and delivers up to 1,000 GALLONS (3,785 L) of freshly filtered water with a single cartridge!
This unique formula provides unsurpassed contaminant reduction for a broad range of common tap water contaminants including: Lead, Chlorine, Chloramine, Cysts (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium), Chlorine By-Products (such as Trihalomethanes), Synthetic Contaminants (such as Pesticides and Herbicides), Industrial Contaminants (such as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)) and Petroleum Contaminants (such as Benzene and MTBE), while allowing beneficial minerals (such as Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium) to remain in the water.
The result is great tasting water that is cleaner, healthier and naturally balanced (without the de-mineralization and "flat" taste associated with other water filtration technologies such as reverse osmosis and distillation).

Enjoy Greater Savings & Convenience with Less Waste.
Stop being nickel and dimed to death by small, costly and less effective filter replacement cartridges. A water filter should transform your water, not your wallet. With WaterChef you’ll enjoy premium quality water at a fraction of the cost. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a 1,000 GALLON rated cartridge capacity (That’s over 7,500 plastic water bottles!).
For most households, that translates into just ONE cartridge replacement per year! (Compare that to the cartridges for pitcher filters, faucet filters and refrigerator filters that are so small that they can require as many as 25 replacements per year!) And, fewer cartridges mean less waste for the environment too!
Intelligent Monitor™ - No More Filter Cartridge Guesswork!
Intelligent Monitoring takes the guesswork out of cartridge replacement. Unlike other systems with simple timer-based monitors, WaterChef’s Intelligent Monitor measures actual usage, so you will never discard a cartridge prematurely, or continue using one that has exceeded its rated capacity again.
The Monitor LEDs are Conveniently Located on the Top of the System –
GREEN: normal system operation
YELLOW: under 10% of capacity remains (time to order a replacement cartridge)
RED: capacity has been reached (replace cartridge to insure peak performance)
Premium Quality & Durability in a Stylish, Space-Saving Design

WaterChef® Premium Countertop Water Filtration
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this system recommended for use with a pull-out type faucet?
A: No. Pull-out faucet designs can vary considerably, and in many cases, are not compatible with the C7000 diverter valve, even with the included faucet adapter kit. Additionally, the motion of pulling out the faucet while the diverter valve is attached can put the C7000 at risk of being knocked over if care is not taken. For customers with a pull-out faucet, we recommend the WaterChef® U9000 Premium Under-Sink Water Filtration System.
Q: How often do the filter cartridges in the WaterChef C7000 System need to be changed?
A: WaterChef filtration systems are all about performance, style and value! Not only do you get a system that looks great, is built to last, and performs to your expectations, but one that is also designed to provide up to 1,000 Gallons with a single filter cartridge! That means an average family of four will enjoy freshly filtered water for just pennies a day with the convenience of having only one cartridge to replace per year – easy on your wallet and your busy schedule!
Q: How will I know when to replace the filter cartridge?
A: The C7000 System has an electronic Intelligent Monitor™ that keeps track of how much water has gone through the filter and will alert you when it is time to change the cartridge. You will also get a warning before the cartridge is completely used up, giving you time to obtain a new filter cartridge.
Q: Why do the filter cartridges need to be changed?
A: WaterChef filter systems have been certified to reduce the contaminants claimed on the performance data sheet. Every filter has a limited amount of capacity for the contaminants it captures. Even though water is still flowing through it and may still taste fresh, there comes a point when it is no longer providing the performance it had when new. Therefore, it is important to change the filter on time to get the best performance from it. There is nothing wrong with changing it ahead of time if you notice a return of off taste or odor similar to the tap water. A sudden or temporary change may be normal with seasonal factors or activities of the municipal water provider.
Q: Why is independent testing and certification so important?
A: In an industry riddled with unvalidated and misleading performance claims, having a trusted, independent “third party” organization like NSF, WQA or UL evaluate a water filtration system against an "official" standard or protocol that has been developed by industry experts, public health officials and consumer representatives, gives you the ability to make a sound and informed choice about the performance claims of the system.
Some water filter manufacturers base their performance claims on internal test results from their own laboratories, but you would have to know them very well to trust whether the performance claims they make for their products are true or misleading. Having a trusted organization “validate” performance claims gives you the peace of mind you are looking for when it comes to selecting the right system for you and your family.
Q: Does this system remove beneficial minerals from the water?
A: No. Beneficial minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) pass freely through the system, leaving you with water that is both great tasting and naturally balanced.
Q: Does this system reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from the water?
A: No. TDS in drinking water is usually attributed to the amount of calcium, potassium and magnesium that is present in your water supply. These are beneficial minerals that are known to support good health. WaterChef systems have been designed to reduce unwanted contaminants, while leaving the beneficial minerals in.
Q: Does this system reduce sulfur odor (rotten egg smell) in my water?
A: Yes. All WaterChef drinking water systems have been independently tested and certified by NSF for the reduction of odor, including the rotten egg smell that is often associated with sulfur.
Q: Does this system remove fluoride from the water?
A: No. While it does have a limited ability to reduce fluoride, it is very dependent upon the pH of the water. If you have had your water tested and find that fluoride is a major concern for you, we recommend finding a reputable manufacturer for either a reverse osmosis or distillation system. Be sure that the system has been independently tested and certified by either NSF® or the Water Quality Association (WQA) for fluoride reduction. If you have questions, or would like assistance, feel free to call WaterChef Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909. One of our support specialists can help you find a reputable manufacturer that fits your specific needs.
Q: Can this system be used to filter well water?
A: Yes. While this system has been specifically designed to reduce contaminants that are most commonly found in municipally treated water supplies, it also has the ability to work well on most disinfected wells. Prior to making the decision to purchase any home water treatment system, it is advisable to have your well water tested first. Once you have your test report, call WaterChef Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909 and request to have one of our water quality specialists review the specific substances and contaminants shown on your report. This will help us to determine whether this system is the right solution for you.

I have had counter top for 3 months. Water tastes great, but drips much to much water after shut-off. I must place unit in sink to use.
From WaterChef: Thank you for your feedback, Carl! A small amount of dripping may occur after the water has been turned off due to excess pressure in the system and is considered normal. We recommend positioning the system spout into your sink. If you feel you are experiencing excessive dripping, please contact our Customer Care team. We would be happy to assist you!

This is the best filter I've ever had and researched. I used to sell filters a few years back so I know the competitors. This one does it all, and the price is unbeatable! The only problem I have with the countertop is that it drips for awhile even after you have switched it back over to the main water. Maybe they have or can create some sort of better shut off valve on the unit?
From WaterChef: Thank you for your feedback! The small dripping you are referring to is caused by excess pressure in the system once the water has been turned off and is considered normal. We recommend making sure the system spout is positioned so that it can easily drip into the sink. If you feel you are experiencing excessive dripping, please contact our Customer Care team. Your C7000 Systems includes a LIFETIME Limited Warranty and we would love to assist you.

We have used the product for over a year and have replaced the filter once. Prior to using the filter, our water tasted like something a high school chemistry class concocted for Holloween. Now the water is crystal clear and free from any foul flavors. I would highly recommend this product.....I usually do not write product reviews.

This is probably the best countertop water filter I've found. I recommend this filter to anyone who wants a great countertop model.
Excellent Customer Care

You will not find a company offering better follow-up customer support. WaterChef assisted in finding an adapter to match my non-standard faucet; no effort was spared in making my purchase experience a good one.

WaterChef is an amazing product. We no longer use bottled water and our filter has lasted the stated 1 year and we drink a LOT of water. WaterChef has also been very responsive to our support request. Great product and a great company.
Fantastic water filter!

I would just like to clarify before the review, I have never worked for Waterchef or any related company and am an independent reviewer and college student. This water filter is great! I did a bunch of research on the internet, and found this one to be the best option for the low-price temporary category as I'm renting an apartment and a college student.
It makes the Boulder, CO tap water taste just as good as bottled water. It hosts a large list of contaminants that it removes, including MTBE and tons more. It's certified by the NSF and made/sold in the U.S.A., so it's a very trustworthy brand. The water filter quality indicator is helpful, as it will turn yellow when the filter's close to going bad, and red when it needs to be replaced, which brings me to my final point. This unit has a listed filter life capacity of 1 full year! Which in the cheap-water filter business is unheard of and is definitely the gold standard of this class of filters. I've owned and used it for a couple of months now, and it's been great so far.
If you can, buy direct from this website, because the first time I purchased the unit from Amazon and that was a nightmare because the order got messed up (I'm not sure whose fault it was, but Waterchef worker Sayra was great and fixed the problem for me).
If anything comes up, I'll update this review accordingly, but with the Lifetime Warranty and exceptional customer service that WaterChef gave me in the past, I doubt that anything will change regarding my opinion of the product or company.
Thanks for the great product and service, Waterchef!

This has been a great product. We are family of five and having been using this for almost one year and just now have had to change the water filter. It lasted us 10 months to be exact! The water tastes great as well. Definitely recommend investing in this one.
Happy with Product. Water runs a bit after shut off
Posted by SAGA on 3rd Jun 2013
H20 tastes and smells much better. Install was easy. Unit does run a bit after shut off (2-seconds or so) so the unit must be placed over a sink or positioned with a device to capture water excess from floor or counter. One of the earlier reviews mentioned the 'drip' (more solid flow than drip). The excess flow is inconsequential given other units by Brita and similar which connect to the faucet have proven troublesome.
Great investment. I am glad I bought this filter my water was so nasty tasting and now I don't have to buy the bottled water because I have no more chlorine taste, no more bad smells, just fresh clean water just like it should be. Thanks Dale, WaterChef Customer
