I give this product and the company FIVE STARS. Enjoy Premium Quality Water for a Fraction of the Cost.
Your Ultimate Drinking Water Solution!
Powerful BIG BLOCK™ Filtration – Certified for 75 CONTAMINANTS
with a Rated Capacity of 1,000 GALLONS per Cartridge!
Combining the power of solid carbon block filtration with a unique, proprietary blend of additional filter media, WaterChef’s innovative Big Block™ Filtration technology maximizes contaminant reduction while delivering up to 1,000 GALLONS (3,785 L) or one year of freshly filtered water with a single cartridge!
This unique formula provides superior contaminant reduction for a broad range of common tap water contaminants including:
- Cysts (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium)
- Chlorine By-Products (such as Trihalomethanes)
- Synthetic Contaminants (such as Pesticides and Herbicides)
- Industrial Contaminants (such as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs))
- Emerging Contaminants (such as Pharmaceuticals and Detergents)
- Petroleum Contaminants (such as Benzene and MTBE)
Additionally, this unique media formulation allows beneficial minerals (such as Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium) to remain in the water. The result is great tasting water that is cleaner, healthier AND naturally balanced (without the de-mineralization and "flat" taste associated with filtration technologies such as Reverse Osmosis and Distillation).

Greater Savings and Convenience. Less Waste.
Stop being nickel and dimed to death by small, costly and less effective filter replacement cartridges. With a WaterChef filtration system, you’ll enjoy premium quality water at a fraction of the cost. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a 1,000 GALLON rated cartridge capacity (That’s over 7,500 plastic water bottles!). For most households, that translates into just ONE cartridge replacement per year! (Compare that to pitcher filters and faucet filters that are so small that they can require as many as 25 replacements per year!) And, fewer cartridges to change means less waste for the environment too!
Intelligent Monitor™ – No More Cartridge Replacement Guesswork!
Intelligent Monitoring takes the guesswork out of cartridge replacement. Unlike other systems with simple timer-based monitors, WaterChef's Intelligent Monitor measures actual usage, so you will never discard a cartridge prematurely or continue using one that has exceeded its rated capacity!
For added convenience, the Intelligent Monitor's LED indicators are built right into the base of the system's premium designer faucet –
GREEN: normal system operation
YELLOW: under 10% of capacity remains (time to order a replacement cartridge)
RED: capacity has been reached (replace cartridge to ensure peak performance)
Includes Premium Grade Designer Faucet with Built-in LED Indicators
WaterChef’s Designer Series Faucet is a premium grade, single-temperature faucet that features solid forged brass construction (NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 compliant), a ceramic disc valve for reliability, a spout with aerator tip for a steady stream and the convenience of LED indicators (for the Intelligent Monitor™) built right into the faucet base ring.
This faucet compliments today’s high-end kitchens with its versatile design and choice of four premium finishes. Choose from polished chrome, polished brass, brushed nickel, and oil-rubbed bronze faucet finishes.
PLEASE NOTE: An existing spray attachment or soap dispenser may be removed as an alternative to drilling an additional sink hole to install system faucet.
Filter Your Sink AND Your Refrigerator with a Refrigerator Kit (optional)
Say goodbye to the inconvenience and expense of the frequent cartridge replacements required by small (and less effective) refrigerator filters. By adding an optional Refrigerator Kit (sold separately) to your U9000 Under-Sink Filtration System, you can easily supply premium filtered water to both your sink and your refrigerator with a single filter cartridge for up to one year!
WQA Gold Seal Certified – Filtration Performance You Can Trust
The water filtration industry is riddled with unvalidated and exaggerated performance claims, but you can rest assured knowing that WaterChef has invested in extensive third-party testing and certification by one of the water filtration industry's most trusted authorities, the Water Quality Association (WQA).

WaterChef® Premium Under-Sink Water Filtration
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How often do the filter cartridges in the WaterChef U9000 System need to be changed?
A: WaterChef filtration products are all about performance, style, and value! Not only do you get a system that looks great and performs to your expectations, but one that is also designed to provide up to 1,000 Gallons with a single filter cartridge! That means an average family of four can enjoy freshly filtered water for just pennies a day and the convenience of one cartridge replacement per year – great for your wallet and your busy schedule! Of course, if you have more thirsty people in your family or just simply enjoy a lot of water, you can replace the filter more often.
Q: How will I know when it is time to replace my filter cartridge?
A: The U9000 system has an electronic Intelligent Monitor that tracks how much water has gone through the filter, so it will let you know when to change it. And, it will also give you a warning before the cartridge is completely used up so you will have time to obtain a new filter cartridge.
Q: Why do the filter cartridges need to be changed?
A: WaterChef filter systems have been certified to reduce the contaminants claimed on the performance data sheet. Every filter has a limited amount of capacity for the contaminants it captures. Even though water is still flowing through it and may still taste fresh, there comes a point when it is no longer providing the performance it had when new. Therefore, it is important to change the filter on time to get the best performance from it. There is nothing wrong with changing it ahead of time if you notice a return of off taste or odor similar to the tap water. A sudden or temporary change may be normal with seasonal factors or activities of the municipal water provider.
Q: Why is independent certification of water filtration products important?
A: Simply put, having a trusted, independent “third party” organization like WQA (the Water Quality Association) or IAPMO evaluate a water filtration product against an official standard or protocol that has been developed by industry experts, public health officials, and users and consumer representatives, gives you the best means for making a sound and informed choice about the claims of the product. Some water filtration manufacturers have nicely outfitted laboratories with talented scientists to develop great products, but you would have to know them very well and how they stand by their core values to trust whether the performance claims they make for their products are true or misleading. Sadly, the water filtration industry is riddled with unvalidated and exagerated performance claims. Having a trusted organization “validate” their claims will give you the peace of mind you are looking for when it comes to selecting a system for you and your family.
Q: Does this system remove beneficial minerals from the water?
A: No. Beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium pass freely through the system, resulting in water that is both great tasting and naturally balanced.
Q: Does this system reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from the water?
A: No. TDS is a poor measure of water quality. TDS in drinking water is usually attributed to the amount of calcium, potassium, and magnesium that is present in your water supply. These are beneficial minerals that are known to support good health. WaterChef systems have been specifically designed to reduce unwanted contaminants while leaving these beneficial minerals in.
Q: Does this system reduce sulfur odor (rotten egg smell) in my water?
A: Yes. WaterChef drinking water systems have been independently tested and certified by WQA for the reduction of odor, including the rotten egg smell that is often associated with sulfur.
Q: Does this system remove fluoride from the water?
A: No. While it does have a limited ability to reduce fluoride, it is very dependent upon the pH of the water. If you've had your water tested and find that fluoride is a major concern for you, we recommend finding a reputable manufacturer for either a reverse osmosis or distillation system. Be sure that the system has been independently tested and certified by WQA (the Water Quality Association), NSF or IAPMO for fluoride reduction. If you have questions or would like assistance, please call WaterChef Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909. One of our support specialists can help you find a reputable manufacturer that fits your specific needs.
Q: Can the water from the WaterChef U9000 System be dispensed from my refrigerator?
A: Yes. By adding the optional Refrigeration Kit (which includes tubing and fittings), a single U9000 System can be used to dispense filter water from both your faucet and your refrigerator, eliminating the added hassle and expense of replacing refrigerator filters.
Q: Can the WaterChef U9000 System be used with an instant hot water appliance for "hot" filtered water?
A: Yes, under certain conditions. When the U9000 System is used in conjunction with an instant hot water appliance, a dual temperature (vented) faucet is required. A single temperature faucet (included with the U9000 System) is only intended for use with cold (ambient) water supplies. If you are interested in using this system with an instant hot water appliance, please call Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909 for additional information.
Q: Can this system be used to filter well water?
A: Yes. While this system has been specifically designed to reduce contaminants that are most commonly found in municipally treated water supplies, it also has the ability to work well on most disinfected wells. Prior to making the decision to purchase any home water treatment system, it is advisable to have your well water tested first. Once you have your test report, call WaterChef Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909 and request to have one of our water quality specialists review the specific substances and contaminants shown on your report. This will help us to determine whether this system is the right solution for you.
Best filter and customer service.

WaterChef makes one of the best filters on the market. I can attest to this opinion because I had my well water tested before filter and after and all prior levels of contaminants were either barley detected or undetectable. The low levels that were detected were way under the set safe limits. Second, the customer service is always good and they take care of customers' issues promptly. Today that's hard to find.

Under-counter unit looks good and works great. Filter lasts a year. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend their products and company.
Noticibly better water
Posted by Richard J. on 28th May 2019
We have had our WaterChef system for several years and can instantly taste the difference in the quality of our water vs normal tap water. I recently noticed that the tiny screen in the end of the water nozzle was missing on our unit. I called the company to see if missing it mattered and they quickly sent me a replacement screen at no charge. We have always gotten great customer service from WaterChef and are forever customers. Thank you.
Relief from a mediocre world

I am well pleased with this WaterChef product. It was relatively easy to install. What a relief to find a product that does exactly what it should do. Clear ice cubes! And, plenty of pure drinking water at less than store prices. My cat also likes pure water.

We love our new Under the Counter WaterChef! Looks great, takes small space underneath, will be easy to replace the filter, looks amazing and I don’t need to worry about when to replace filter because of the indicator light! Love It! I would definitely recommend and buy one again.
Easy to install & quick results.

Installation was very easy. The results of plain water were right away. Had a small problem with a minor leak at the T valve. One call to customer service and I had a replacement valve within days. Very satisfied with the entire project.
Great filtration system

Very pleased with our WaterChef U9000. Water tastes great and filters last a long time. Robust construction and love the spout styling.
Thrilled with my Waterchef U9000 filter
Posted by Happy wife! on 2nd Feb 2019
I installed this in my new high end kitchen and I am thrilled. I bought the polished chrome faucet and under counter filter directly from Waterchef in Feb 2018 and had it installed April 2018. The water tastes so fresh.
The polished chrome faucet is very high end looking and matches my Hansgrohe polished chrome, arc shape sink faucet perfectly. The sink faucet is in the middle of my 40/60 bowl (small side left, disposal right), the Waterchef filter faucet is on the left corner at the small sink bowl, and the disposal air switch is on the right corner of the large sink bowl. We keep the small bowl for clean dishes/glasses. I fill glasses and containers in three ways: I hold the glass under the spout, I put the glass or large glass on the counter and spin the faucet to fill it, I place a large glass in the sink bottom. The faucet operation is smooth and the water flow is quick. I never thought it was taking too long. The little green light is not intrusive and shows the filter is ok.
I researched countless filters and read hundreds of reviews and selected this filter because of its 5-star ratings and the stainless steel housing. From personal experience, I saw other filters with plastic housings had cracked and leaked. The stainless steel filter tank is a small size and fits nicely in the back left corner of the sink cabinet. There is still lots of room under the sink cabinet. A Google image search of the Waterchef U9000 shows a few photos of the filter under the sink with the disposal on the right. This helped me and it is exactly how it looks installed. The plumber had no problem hooking up the filter.
I ordered auto filter renewals to save money on the initial purchase and the annual filter purchase. We are two people and use the water for drinking, coffee machine, cat water and some cooking. The filter light is still green. I installed a built in refrigerator with ice in the bottom drawer and no water in the door (for looks) and wanted an undersink filter to replace the water in the door. I researched and agonized over this for months. I am so happy with these selections. The refrigerator bottom drawer icemaker and the sink water filter is the perfect solution for us.
I hope this helps others who are struggling with this decision.

I replaced a Aquasana under sink system with the WaterChef, and never looked back. I now change my filter every 8-10 months vs. every 3 months. My water tastes great and is crystal clear. I think this is the best under sink system available.
The unit itself is very well made and the faucet looks so nice on the sink. We started using this product the night we got it and the water is so pure and clean coming out which makes the taste of the water amazing. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone. Bridget C., WaterChef Customer
