WaterChef® Premium Under-Sink Filter Cartridges
ENJOY SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE AND A 1,000 GALLON RATED CAPACITY!
Combining the power of solid carbon block filtration with a unique, proprietary blend of additional filter media, WaterChef’s innovative Big Block™ Filtration technology maximizes contaminant reduction and delivers up to 1,000 GALLONS (3,785 L) of freshly filtered water with a single filter cartridge!
This unique formula provides unsurpassed contaminant reduction for a broad range of common tap water contaminants including:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cysts (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium)
- Chlorine
- Chloramine
- Chlorine By-Products (such as Trihalomethanes)
- Synthetic Contaminants (such as Pesticides and Herbicides)
- Industrial Contaminants (such as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs))
- Emerging Contaminants (such as Pharmaceuticals and Detergents)
- Petroleum Contaminants (such as Benzene and MTBE)
Additionally, the UR90's unique media formulation allows beneficial minerals (such as Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium) to remain in the water. The result is great tasting water that is cleaner, healthier and naturally balanced (without the de-mineralization and “flat” taste associated with other water filtration technologies such as reverse osmosis and distillation).

With WaterChef you’ll enjoy premium quality water at a fraction of the cost! You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a 1,000 GALLON rated cartridge capacity (That’s over 7,500 plastic water bottles!).
For most households, that translates into just ONE filter cartridge replacement per YEAR! (Compare that to the cartridges for pitcher filters, faucet filters and refrigerator filters that are so small that they can require as many as 25 replacements per year!) Plus, fewer cartridges to change means less waste for the environment too!
Sadly, the water filtration industry is riddled with manufacturers and sellers who make unvalidated and exaggerated performance claims. Rest assured knowing that WaterChef has invested in independent NSF/ANSI testing and certification by one of the industry's most trusted authorities, IAPMO Research and Testing.
Requiring the strictest of testing and compliance standards, the IAPMO Platinum Seal is awarded to only the most reliable and trusted producers of quality water treatment systems. IAPMO is valued by consumers, manufacturers, retailers, and regulatory agencies across the globe. Trust is what independent NSF/ANSI Certification is all about.

Have an Additional Question? Just Ask Us.
WaterChef filtration systems are all about performance, style, and value! Not only do you get a system that looks great, is built to last, and performs to your expectations, but one that is designed to provide up to 1,000 gallons or one year with a single filter cartridge! That means an average houshold will enjoy freshly filtered water for just pennies a day with the convenience of having only one cartridge to replace annually – easy on your wallet and your busy schedule!
The U9000 System has an electronic Intelligent Monitor™ that keeps track of how much water has gone through the filter and will alert you when it is time to change the UR90 cartridge. You will also get a warning before the cartridge is completely used up, giving you time to obtain a new filter cartridge.
WaterChef filter systems have been certified to reduce the contaminants claimed on the performance data sheet. Every filter has a limited amount of capacity for the contaminants it captures. Even though water is still flowing through it and may still taste fresh, there comes a point when it is no longer providing the performance it had when new. Therefore, it is important to change the filter on time to get the best performance from it. There is nothing wrong with changing it ahead of time if you notice a return of off taste or odor similar to the tap water. A sudden or temporary change may be normal with seasonal factors or activities of the municipal water provider.
In an industry riddled with unvalidated and misleading performance claims, having a trusted, independent “third party” organization like IAPMO, NSF, or WQA evaluate a water filtration system against official industry standards (NSF/ANSI Standards) gives you the ability to make an informed choice about the performance claims of a filter system. These Standards have been developed by industry experts, public health officials, and consumer representatives to ensure your safety by validating manufacturer claims.
Some water filter manufacturers base their performance claims on internal test results from their own laboratories, but you would have to know them very well to trust whether the claims they make for their products are true or misleading. Having a trusted testing organization “validate” performance claims gives you the peace of mind you are looking for when it comes to selecting the right system for you and your family.
NO. Beneficial minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) pass freely through the system, leaving you with water that is both great tasting and naturally balanced.
NO. TDS is a poor measure of water quality. TDS in drinking water is usually attributed to the amount of calcium, potassium, and magnesium that is present in your water supply. These are beneficial minerals that are known to support good health. WaterChef systems have been specifically designed to reduce a broad range of unwanted contaminants while leaving these beneficial minerals in.
YES. All WaterChef countertop systems have been independently tested and certified by IAPMO R&T for the reduction of odor, including the rotten egg smell that is often associated with sulfur.
NO. While it does have a limited ability to reduce fluoride, it is very dependent upon the pH of the water. If you have had your water tested and find that fluoride is a major concern for you, we recommend finding a reputable manufacturer for either a reverse osmosis or distillation system. Be sure that the system has been independently tested and certified by IAPMO, WQA, or NSF for fluoride reduction.
If you have questions or would like assistance, feel free to call WaterChef Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909. One of our support specialists can help you find a reputable manufacturer that fits your specific needs.
YES. While this cartridge has been specifically designed to reduce contaminants that are most commonly found in municipally treated water supplies, it also has the ability to work well on most disinfected wells.
Prior to making the decision to purchase any home water treatment system, it is advisable to have your well water tested first. Once you have your test report, call WaterChef Customer Care at 1-800-879-8909 and request to have one of our water quality specialists review the specific substances and contaminants shown on your report. This will help us to determine whether this system is the right solution for you.
