Sediment can enter your home through the incoming water supply and make its way into plumbing, fixtures, appliances, and water filtration equipment. The TrueHome™ Whole House Sediment Pre-Filter System provides a simple first stage of protection by filtering incoming water before it travels throughout your home.
Installed at the main water line, the system uses a sediment cartridge to help reduce suspended particles such as rust, sand, silt, dirt, and other sediment. By removing sediment upstream, it can help protect downstream filtration equipment and reduce the amount of particulate matter reaching your home's plumbing and fixtures.
Each system comes with a 5-micron polypropylene sediment cartridge pre-installed. The cartridge features a graded-density design that helps trap sediment throughout the filter media, providing effective first-stage particulate filtration.
The included 5-micron cartridge is designed to help reduce rust, sand, silt, dirt, and other suspended particles from your home's incoming water. The housing is also compatible with standard 4.5-inch diameter sediment cartridges in the corresponding 10-inch or 20-inch size, giving you flexibility when selecting replacement cartridges.
Choose the configuration that best fits your home's water conditions and available installation space:
- 4.5" x 10" – Compact option for applications with limited installation space or moderate sediment levels.
- 4.5" x 20" – Larger-capacity option with more filter media for applications where greater sediment-holding capacity or longer cartridge life is desired.
Both configurations use a 4.5-inch housing diameter and 1-inch inlet and outlet connections.
The durable black filter housing is designed for point-of-entry installation on residential and light commercial water systems. A built-in pressure-release button helps relieve pressure before opening the housing for routine cartridge replacement.
A mounting bracket is included for secure installation.
When the sediment cartridge becomes loaded with sediment, simply shut off the water supply, relieve pressure using the pressure-release button, remove the housing with the included filter wrench, and replace the cartridge.
Filter life varies according to water quality, sediment levels, water usage, and other conditions. Inspect the cartridge periodically and replace it when it becomes visibly loaded with sediment or when water flow begins to decrease.
